Is Eastern Europe Editor of the Financial Times, responsible for overseeing the newspaper’s coverage of central and eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, including editorial comments. An FT journalist for more than two decades, he was formerly Moscow Bureau Chief, in 2005-2008.
Prior to that, Mr Buckley was a correspondent in New York, from 2002 to 2004, and a European Union correspondent in Brussels, 1996-2000. He has twice been a columnist on the FT’s Lex Column, the agenda-setting commentary column on business and financial issues. He was named Business Journalist of the Year in the 2004 British Press Awards, and has provided comment on broadcast outlets including the BBC, CNN, CNBC, and Bloomberg Television.
